Marching Band Summer Update

Good Afternoon,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and this nice weather! Just wanted to update you all on some important items for the summer to help us gear up for the Marching Band Season.

• Our school is fortunate enough to have a World Class Drum Corp use our facility for a few days this coming week. On June 22 and the 23rd the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corp for Casper Wyoming will be staying at Mt Healthy and will be rehearsing at the Owls nest. These kids travel around the country performing at local competitions and we will have LIMITED free tickets available to their performance in Hamilton, OH at 7pm on June 22. Tickets will be on a first come first served basis and I would need to know by this Thursday (June 18) at the latest if you wish to attend the competition in Hamilton. If you have never heard of this activity I promise you will not be disappointed. I provided a few links to the show and to the event to check out. Also if you are available, I would encourage students and parents to come watch them rehearse at Mt Healthy.

• Be sure to check out www.mthealthybands.com for all of the latest information.   From there you can see all current events and download and print music for marching band. The password needed to download music is practice. Our summer schedule also listed so please be sure to visit the website for any information not covered in emails.

• If you have not done so already please begin to start paying your band fees. You can either pay your fees in person at the high school or online through EZ Pay. I have attached instructions on how to use EZ pay to pay your band fees and you can visit EZ pay by clicking https://www.spsezpay.com/SPSEZpay/NT/Login.aspx?EC=230.

 

• Reminder that Percussion Camp will be held July 27-28 and required for ALL percussionists. Music Camp will be held from 12-4pm July 29-31 and is required by ALL marching band members. Rookie Camp is July 29-31 from 6-8pm and ALL rookies and Leadership staff are required to attend. Full Band camp will be August 3-7 All Day. If you have any conflicts, please let me know ahead of time.
